Adiós ElvUI, hola DefaultUI

El juego está roto

El juego ahora mismo, si buscáis un poco en vuestro buscador favorito o visionáis algún video, veréis la cantidad de quejas que hay actualmente en cuanto al rendimiento del juego en raid o en determinadas actividades donde se pueden acumular una gran cantidad de jugadores. Ahí es cuando se empieza a hablar de la bajada de frames desde los 60 fps a los escasos 20 fps si eres afortunado o incluso más sino lo eres.

Su poca optimización en estos momentos hace que determinados addons con ciertas características provoquen directamente la no jugabilidad en momentos críticos. Addons como WeakAuras, DBM, Details o Plater provocan está bajada de fps por determinadas funcionalidades que hay que ajustar y si ya de paso utilizáis ElvUI la situación se vuelve aun peor, de golpe ElvUI hace descender siempre más o menos unos 20 fps de los que puedas tener.

Ejemplo: Si tienes 60 fps en Dornogal pero tienes instalado ElvUI se convertirán en 40 fps. No es culpa del addon en sí, sino que el juego está roto y alguna característica del addon provoca esta bajada de más ni menos que 20 fps. Una pasada.

Con esto en mente, cambié totalmente mi interfaz de World of Warcraft. Era eso o dejar de jugar, no había otra opción. Y llegados a este punto, tengo que decir, que la experiencia con la interfaz simple que añadió Blizzard, la llamada DefaultUI no puedo estar más contento y creo que lo dejaré así aun cuando el problema quede arreglado.

Si bien ElvUI trae numerosas opciones por defecto, para evitar instalar addons adicionales, pienso que también limita una personalización más propia que cada usuario pueda darle. Eso es lo que realmente me ha gustado y por ello creo que lo dejaré así.

Si quieres pasarte a DefaultUI te explico cómo hacerlo. Además aplicarlo a tus diferentes PJs será coser y cantar ;)

Configurando DefaultUI

Lo primero es cepillarte todos los addons, no es algo realmente necesario, pero si quieres romper con todo, solo apunta los addons en un papel, en un bloc de notas… y fuera, borra sin pensarlo. Empezaremos de cero.

Una vez dentro del juego, sin ElvUI, es posible que te entren ganas de llorar, hazlo si quieres, pero pronto esas lágrimas serán alegrías y sonrisas. Dirígete a la opción de Modo Edición del menú:

Ahora simplemente organiza tu interfaz cómo quieras y te guste. Únicamente tienes que reubicar allí donde quieras los cuadros destacados en azul. Esta que tenéis es actualmente la mía.

Recomiendo que para poder mover más ventanas u opciones, como por ejemplo los banners con aviso de loot, instaléis un addon llamado: Edit Mode Expanded.

Con esto ya podremos mover prácticamente cualquier cosa de toda nuestra interfaz.

Bartender4

Hay varios addons de este tipo, pero Bartender es para mí, el más fiable y sencillo de todos. Con él podrás mover cada barra y cada ventana, para dejarlo configurado como mejor os guste.

Soy muy maniático con las barras y estuve probando muchísimo con diversos addons, Bartender lo hace fácil y te marca todas aquellas de color verde, para moverlas simplemente debes habilitarlas de manera individual y ya solo queda arrastrar a la ubicación deseada.

En mi caso en las barras de lanzamiento de habilidades, utilizo un total de 16 las cuales tengo enlazadas a los diferentes botones del ratón que tengo. Más allá de esas 16 habilidades, si tengo que utilizar alguna más, lo hago como “cliquer* (pulsando con el ratón sobre la habilidad).

Mi actual configuración es la siguiente (son las barras de color verde).

Como podéis ver algo muy simple y fácil de utilizar.

Frames por segundo

Con esta mezcla de DefaultUI + Bartender4 mi situación con los FPS y mi ordenador patata la cosa ha mejorado sustancialmente, ya que al ir a mazmorras/banda los problemas de caídas de FPS no es tan problemática, ya que aunque el número de FPS es bajo, no me resta en ningún momento esos 20 fps que el ElvUI por problemas del juego me quitaba directamente.

En Dornogal, la capital y en pleno centro se encuentra entre los 50-60 fps. Lo que no está mal.
Fuera de la capital, sin limitar los FPS en la configuración, llego a los 120 fps sin problemas.
